How We Help
We compare the original document to the copy, confirm whether true-copy certification is appropriate, and complete the certification wording required by the receiving organization where possible.
Central Ontario clients often need certified true copies when a document has to be submitted to an institution while the original remains with the person, family, business, or estate that owns it. These requests can arise for school admission, immigration, licensing, employment, banking, real estate financing, estate administration, corporate records, insurance, government applications, and professional registration. The request may come from a local office, a national organization, or an overseas authority, and the format can matter as much as the copy itself.
Goldstone Law PC helps Central Ontario clients understand the request before the copy is certified. We compare the original document to the copy, review names, dates, seals, stamps, signatures, page numbers, attachments, and visible markings, and complete certification where appropriate. If the recipient has asked for specific wording, color copies, every-page certification, or a particular package format, those instructions should be brought forward at the beginning of the appointment.
Certified true copies may involve passports, permanent resident cards, driver’s licences, birth certificates, marriage certificates, academic records, professional licences, powers of attorney, estate documents, corporate records, resolutions, banking documents, and application packages. In most cases, the original document must be available because a scan, photo, or ordinary photocopy does not provide enough basis for true-copy certification.
Some Central Ontario certified-copy requests are connected to larger files that have several moving parts. A document used outside Canada may need notarization, apostille, authentication, translation, or a separate review by the receiving authority. A school, bank, licensing body, or estate office may also have its own wording requirements. We help clients identify those possibilities before the certified copies are submitted.
Clients can help keep the appointment straightforward by bringing the original, clear copies, valid identification, the number of copies needed, written instructions, and the submission deadline.
We also help clients organize larger packages so the certified copies match the order expected by the receiving office.

What To Watch For
Central Ontario certified-copy requests often involve clients coordinating school, employment, estate, immigration, banking, and property documents across more than one office or institution.
A true copy is normally certified only after the original document is presented for comparison.
If the receiving office needs special wording, every-page certification, color copies, or a bound package, bring those instructions.
How It Works
We review the instructions, compare the original against the copy, certify the copy where appropriate, and discuss any extra notarization, apostille, or translation steps.
Step 1
We confirm what the receiving authority needs and whether true-copy certification is the right step.
Step 2
We compare the original to the copy, including pages, seals, stamps, and visible details.
Step 3
Where appropriate, we complete the certification wording, signature, and lawyer or notary details.
Step 4
We identify whether notarization, apostille, authentication, translation, or additional copies may be needed.
